WORKSHOP: Create & Share a One Minute Promotional Video in Fifteen Minutes!

This workshop is being hosted by Waltham Local First and the Waltham Film Factory, a project of the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation.

Inbound Marketing, often referred to as "content marketing," is promoting your business or nonprofit by creating interesting blogs, podcasts, eBooks, eNewsletters and, of course, VIDEO to attract customers or visitors.

From Wikipedia: "Inbound marketing refers to marketing activities that bring vistors in, rather than marketers having to go out and get prospects' attention.... In contrast, buying attention, cold calling, direct paper mail, radio, TV advertisements, sales flyers, spam, telemarketing, and traditional advertising are considered 'outbound marketing.'" - And we know Outbound Marketing is often very expensive and, at least as often, not very effective.

Video is arguably the most compelling marketing medium. And most of us carry very powerful smartphones with us throughout our daily life. In this workshop you will learn how to use your smartphone to capture still and moving pictures, add some narration, and upload a finished one minute video to YouTube that takes a mere 15 minutes to produce, start-to-finish!

This is a hands-on workshop that is divided into three sections:

In the first section, the workshop leader, Bob Perry, will briefly discuss inbound marketing and video’s importance in that paradigm, and then demonstrate, start-to-finish, how to create and share a one-minute video in just 15 minutes.

In Section 2, attendees will create and share their own sample one-minute promotional videos, with coaching from Bob.

Then, in Section 3, all of the videos created in Section 2 will be viewed and evaluated by the the group.

Although this workshop will be taught using an iPhone, the principles and methods covered in this workshop will translate well to the Android platform with similar Apps installed.

All workshop attendees should bring their smartphones! It is recommended that iPhone users have iMovie and YouTube apps installed.

(And, yes, tablet users: You’re welcome to bring your iPads or Android tablets if you like!).

This workshop will take place from 5:30pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday evening, November 7, 2017 at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation located at 154 Moody Street, Waltham.

This workshop is strictly limited to 8 participants. The fee is $10 for members of either the Charles River Museum or Waltham Local First, and $20 for non-members.

This Workshop is led by Bob Perry, Co-Founder of Waltham Local First, and Executive Director of the Charles River Museum - a proud Waltham Local First Member!
