Danny Schmidt is a modern troubadour cut from the timeless cloth of the likes of Leonard Cohen or Townes Van Zandt. Though his tools are unadorned and intimate—a voice, an acoustic guitar—the songs are poetic, fantastical, and vibrantly imaginative. As Jeffrey Foucault, who was featured in our 2019 spring series so aptly puts it: “Everything about the man is gentle, except for his capacity for insight, which is crushing.”
Schmidt has recently been touring as the musical guest of the popular podcast Welcome to Night Vale.
This show is a relatively rare New England headlining appearance for this Austin-based singer/songwriter, and is not to be missed.
