Charlie Chaplin's MODERN TIMES
Screening begins at 7:30, doors open 30 minutes prior
Join us for a special screening of Charlie Chaplin's 1936 classic MODERN TIMES, projected amongst the machinery and industrial artifacts of the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation.
This, Chaplin's final "silent" film depicts his enduring "Little Tramp" character (the last time he would portray him) struggling to keep up with the ever-increasingly demanding machinery of his factory job. Paulette Goddard shines as the poor orphan girl who steals his heart.
Joining us for the evening to introduce and provide post-screening commentary and discussion, including deleted scenes from the film, will be Emerson film professor Peter Flynn.
