Beginning in Fall 2019, the Museum will be opening once a month on various Wednesday and Friday evenings. It’s an excellent chance for those who struggle to find daytime visiting opportunities or folks who just might enjoy a night out, surrounded by history.

When:

Friday, August 30th

Wednesday, September 18th

This "Evening a the Museum" features a very special treat in celebration of Waltham's 135th Anniversary Parade scheduled happening on Sunday, September 22nd:

Everyone loves a parade and to celebrate the upcoming Waltham City parade, the Charles River Museum is hosting a special Evening at the Museum with a look back at the Grover Cronin Easter Parade.

For many years, Rex Trailer would deliver the Easter Bunny to the parade via helicopter. 16mm film footage from The Rex Trailer Collection will be shown on a screen featuring parade footage from 1963 through 1968. The 20-minute film loop will include a soundtrack of popular music recorded by Rex himself.

Come and watch this incredible time capsule of memories and look for your family and friends among the crowd lining the streets. See, Rex on Goldrush, Pablo, Cactus Pete, Bozo, Willie Whistle and many more who were highlights in the parades.

If you see yourself or someone you know, be sure to let us know!
