Lori Zuroff
Lori Zuroff is a Boston-based jazz vocalist. She released her first jazz cd, Ladybug, in November 2020 to rave reviews and was recently featured on the cover of Metronome Magazine. Lori has been singing rock, blues, R&B and jazz for over 20 years. She has studied with Rebecca Parris, Sheila Jordan, and Dominique Eade. Zuroff often can be found performing with her trio of Molly Flannery (piano), Bill McCormack (bass), and Miki Matsuki (drums).
She is thrilled to be collaborating with the very talented pianist, composer, and band leader Witness Matlou for this Boiler House Jazz Series concert.
Witness Matlou
Jazz pianist Witness Matlou is a Johannesburg-born composer, performer, and band leader whose work is influenced by African traditional, folk music, jazz, classical, and other world music.
Witness studied music at Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in performance & jazz composition, with a minor in philosophy. He earned his Master’s degree from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute In 2016, where he studied with Grammy winning pianist and composer Danilo Perez, as well as with Joe Lovano, John Patitucci, Dave Liebman, and Terri Lyne Carrington. Matlou was awarded a Berklee Global Jazz Institute Post-Master’s Fellowship in 2017.
Matlou has toured professionally throughout Europe, Africa, Latin America, and the United States. He has performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival, Twin Cities Jazz Festival, Panama Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, D.C. Jazz Festival, and the Newport Jazz Festival. He has appeared at the Kennedy Center, Dizzy’s Jazz Club, Lincoln Center, and Princeton University.

A member of the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame, Ron Della Chiesa is a legendary long-time broadcaster of both classical and jazz styles. His long-running radio program Music America focused on what's become known as the Great American Songbook.
